Questions, probably

Are my files uploaded?: No. Everything happens in your browser, on your own device. There's no server that receives files, so there's nothing to leak, sell or train an AI on.
Why does my iPhone use HEIC?: It's about half the size of a JPG at the same quality. Handy on your phone, less handy everywhere else.
Can I stop my iPhone from making HEIC?: Yes: Settings, Camera, Formats, Most Compatible. From then on it shoots JPG. Your existing photos stay HEIC, which is what this page is for.
