Encrypt files

Lock it. Send it. Only they can open it.

A copy of your passport, a contract, a tax return, a whole folder of them: lock anything with a password before it goes into an e-mail or a cloud drive. The locking happens on your device, so not even this site sees the file or the password.

Your files and password never leave this tab. Forget the password and nobody can open the file, including me.

How to send something safely

  1. 1. Lock it

    Drop the file (or several), pick a strong password, download the .locked file.

  2. 2. Send it

    E-mail it, WeTransfer it, put it on a USB stick. Without the password it's noise.

  3. 3. Share the password another way

    Text it, say it on the phone. Never in the same e-mail as the file.

  4. 4. They open it here

    The other person drops the .locked file on this page and types the password. Nothing to install.

Under the hood: AES-256-GCM, with the key made from your password by PBKDF2-SHA-256 (600,000 rounds), using your browser's built-in cryptography. The file name is locked too. There's no back door and no reset: lose the password and the file is gone for good.
